Friend, I am so glad that you're joining us today because there is something that I want you to know, jared and I both have a heart for you to see that you were born to live an amazing life. God has incredible things in store for you. I don't care how old you are, I don't care how your body feels right now. You were born for greatness. There is a purpose and a plan over your life. Maybe, just maybe, through a certain set of circumstances that you've lived in your life and for a lot of us, that's our health struggles Maybe those circumstances have held you back, kept you from being all that you were created to be, because you just don't feel good. We get it, sister. We get it, brother. We have been there, we have been where you are, and I'm smiling today and I have joy in my voice because I know what's on the other side of that struggle, jared, and I know what it's like to be low on energy and barely surviving the day. And then we know what it's like to be on the other side and feel like I need to force myself to go to bed because I'm up way too late and I'm not going to have the energy I need tomorrow because I've kept myself up too late. That's a whole different struggle. That's the struggle you want to have. You don't want to be going through life thinking, oh, I'm always going to have this chronic disease. Let me tell you, you have an enemy who does not want you to succeed and you've got to understand that. He doesn't come to you telling you that the things he's making you buy and believe in life are lies, but you've believed so many of them because they were stated to you as though they were truth. That's how he comes. He might come to you in the form of a medical provider and say hey, you've got this chronic disease and you're always going to have it and you're going to have to take this medication forever. And this is just how it's going to be. Maybe it's your own thoughts. He comes to you in your thoughts and says you'll never feel better. You're always going to have low energy. You're always going to have those weird numb sensations in your toes. You've got cancer. That's incurable, but that's not true. These things just aren't true. There are all these different diseases and things that we've come to believe are quote chronic, long term, and in our minds we've been trained to believe the lie that they are not reversible, but that is not true. But this is one of the key ways that your enemy keeps you stuck. So today we are going to deal with this one big thing. We're going to tackle this one big thing and help you get over this hurdle so that 2024 and beyond can be your best years ever. Hey sister, welcome to the Power On Plants podcast. It wasn't necessarily our norm, but listen, it's time to get serious, sheridan, and I want you to understand that you do not have to stay stuck. We don't want you to let someone put this label on you or give you this idea, because we hear it so many times throughout our lives and you hear something over and over again, even when you're not dealing with that disease, from the time you're little. Oh, some say Scott Cancer, they've only got X amount of time to live. The doctor labels their time as though they were God, how they're going to give them their days, and so then we start to believe that, we start to take that on and we let that determine our destiny. There are things that you can do. A lot of it starts with your lifestyle the food you eat, the spiritual life you're walking, the sleep, your outlook on life those things are fueled by the food you eat. If you don't feel good and you don't have the energy to get up and get yourself motivated, how are you going to move forward in these other areas of your life? And that's why Jared and I are so passionate about getting the right food to fuel your body, because the enemy comes to you and he lies about these things. You're always going to struggle with this thing. It might be in the form of your thoughts Again, it might be a doctor, it might be a friend or a family member. You grow up hearing these things that aren't true and then you're faced with that quote, same diagnosis, and you just think well, that's the end. You know, I saw someone say go through it and this and that, and I'll take the meds and I'll fight it for a while, but ultimately, that's what's going to take me down.

Speaker 2:

And it's just something that runs in the family. So it just is. And, like you're saying, you take that diagnosis on and you kind of live into the destiny that you've had proclaimed over you. And the thing is is these doctors don't know how long you have. I mean, they really honestly don't. They're just going by the mainstream medical knowledge and of the mainstream medical treatments and that's what they've been taught, that's what they're telling you.

Speaker 1:

But the amazing thing is that we know that the top diseases of our time are lifestyle related. And Jared and I are not just talking from the research yet. We're talking from the research. I mean, ask Dr Gregor, read how not to die. Okay, we know that these things are reversible. The research is there. It's been there for years. The problem is we don't believe it because our doctors are telling us something different.

Speaker 2:

We've heard something different growing up in the enemy pounds, and they should know right, they're the medical professionals.

Speaker 1:

Well, one would think so, but then you have the enemy come in, who doesn't ever want you to reach the next level. He is here to steal from you your time, steal from you the life you were created to live, steal from you your dreams, steal from you your hope. There comes a time when you've got to say enough is enough. This is a new year. I have a new opportunity here. I've got to do something that's different than I've always done before. The dieting doesn't work. I've got all these extra pounds. It's not working. The conventional treatments I've tried those things, but I'm taking more medication on top of the other, medication to help me deal with the side effects of that medication. It's putting a strain on my wallet and it's putting a strain on my body. I'm exhausted and I just don't know what to do. But what we see time and again, we've seen it in our own lives. We see it with our clients that we work with. When they get surrounded by the right community, they get the hope that they need oh, this can be reversed. Oh, there is something I can do. Oh, I do have power. The research is there. Now I'm meeting people in this community who actually reverse type two diabetes who've gotten rid of their health struggles. We're going to talk about some members of ours who have gotten rid of these things. Today we see it over and over again. It's time to stop believing the lies. You were created for a purpose and the time has come to stop letting the enemy tell you you're never going to, it's never going to. You're always going to struggle with this thing, so these things will never take place. For you, those are lies. Are you going to just hand over your life to him and let him define three people through your thoughts and therefore live it out through your actions? Because the truth is and this is biblical what you believe. This is why, in the Bible, you always hear guard your thoughts, guard your mind, guard your eyes, guard your ears. Why is that? Why is that? Because what you think is what you imagine, what you picture, and your imagination is real strong, and it can be so strong and so vivid that those thoughts then become what you do, because you can't do what you don't think and what you think, you will do what you believe internally to be real and true. No matter what you say. You believe what you really believe. Those are the things that you're going to live out in your life. So it's time for you to get some belief around to wrap your mind around these health struggles that you're having, the fact that you keep having low energy and not feeling good, and all these different things you've been set up in life. There's multiple things that have gone on that have led you to this place, but you have to decide. Today things are going to be different for me. I'm going to get myself into a different environment where I'm surrounded by people who are on the path to getting better. I'm going to stop eating those things that are sabotaging me. But I've tried that before and it didn't work. Because I've dieted, I've had to do miserable ways I counted calories, I've kept up with portions, I've done macros and macros. It just didn't work. Maybe I lost some weight, maybe I started feeling better, things started to reverse in my life. But then here I am back, worse than I was before, and I'm looking at this new year and I'm going. I got to diet. I got to do something. Forget the miserable ways. It's time to build a lifestyle you love. You've got to have the quick ways, the simple ways. You've got to move beyond. I'm just going to throw a couple of vegetables in a bowl because I know I need to eat vegetables and you don't like the flavor of it. Together, you've got to learn how to create those dishes, those meals that you love, and look forward to create the lifestyle that you love, living that with the food that's going to love you back. Let's just talk about the top diseases of our time that are lifestyle related. Jared's just going to share some of those with you. It's hard to wrap your mind around how so many of these things are related and why are they related. So I'm going to share a little bit about why these things are related after Jared goes over these things.

Speaker 2:

All right, I'm going to go over those in just a moment, but you said something that sparked an idea Whenever-.

Speaker 1:

Is it a car analogy? No, it's not a car analogy.

Speaker 2:

It's actually a by Well, it's not even a bicycle analogy. But I remember a while back hearing, if you're going down the road riding on your bike and say there's an obstacle, that comes, don't focus on the obstacle, because you're focusing on what you're going to head toward. What you do is you focus elsewhere, focus on the clear path around the obstacle, so that if, let's say, you're on a bike, going on a trail and you see, oh, there's a root right in front of me, and if you're staring at the root you're going to go toward the thing that you're focused on. What a great point. But look at the way oh, here's a little path around the root or the rock or whatever that is, and that's the same thing in our lives we get focused on. I've got this problem. That's all you're looking at, that's all you're focusing on. It's like we're going to make that thing come to pass.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I feel like that's why the enemy gets us so focused on those things, because you think on those things and then that's where you steer, that's what you believe, that's how you live your life. You kind of live into the thing you've been taught and told, that root in your life. Whatever it is that root that core issue that we need to address, but it just doesn't get addressed appropriately. Instead it trips us up again and again and again we fall over it again and again. We keep dealing with that same thing over and over, and so we've got to first understand, even though these things are labeled chronic, even though these are the things we've thought time and again are irreversible oh well, I've got the genetic kind. Oh well, I've got the family guy. My doctor told me the kind I have is genetic. I have heard that from my own family members. But what I know from my own life and what I see from people that we work with time and time again and what we see in the nutrition research, is these things are reversible.

Speaker 2:

And we're not saying to just ignore what's going on, but we're saying understand that. But understand that there is a path around. You may not see it, but that path is there. Start looking for it, find it, start heading toward that, and then you'll see that obstacle disappear.

Speaker 1:

Look, if the rate's in front of you and you're heading that direction and you start ignoring it, you're still going to hit it.

Speaker 2:

You're going to hit it, You're going to fall over, bang yourself up. But anyway, just wanted to share that because I found that to be true in my own life. Being on my bike, looking at maybe a little hole in the trail or the path that I'm on and I'm staring at it, it's like there's a tractor meeting there. So I realized focus on the path around, so anyway, but you've got to know that there is a path around. I feel this is the big thing about this episode.

Speaker 1:

You want you to understand. There is a path around. I don't care what it is, what's been spoken of over you, what you thought, what thoughts have gone through your mind. A lot of it is just not true. So you've got to reframe your thoughts around the fact that there is something I can do. I do not have to stay this way. I can make a difference in where I'm headed. Where I'm headed, no matter if these things have been spoken of your life.

Speaker 2:

Maybe you've dealt with cardiovascular disease, brain diseases, brain diseases. Now what kind of diseases. Would that be Stroke, stroke?

Speaker 1:

All-signers Could be some types of dementia. It could even be depression.

Speaker 2:

Depression.

Speaker 1:

I mean, we know that eating whole plant foods helps that. Depression, anxiety, cognitive decline we're thinking about, you know, as we get older. We don't have cognitive decline. We want to be able to live our fullest lives, our best lives. It's not just about a long life. We want to live well, we want to live like the woman on Instagram that I saw the other day who was walking the track with her daughter and it was a workout track. So you know, you hit.

Speaker 2:

I don't know what the official name of those is those different stations. So you've got the little path you walk or jog along and then you have these different little stations and some of them maybe push-ups, some of them are pull-ups.

Speaker 1:

The woman was something like 95 years old. She's hopping up on the bench, doing push-ups on the bench, hopping up, popping down, hopping up. That's the kind of life we want. We want to remain active so that we can fully live every moment, being good stewards of our time and of the life we've been given.

Speaker 2:

But that way you have the tools to go and do what you've been called to do at any point in time. Car analogy Okay, let's say you're a mechanic. Let's say you're a mechanic and you've got a person that comes in. They've got a specific problem with their car and you recognize what that problem is, but you don't have the right tool. Like, I know what this problem is but I can't fix it because I don't have the right tool.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

Say that there's an opportunity to go somewhere on a missions trip, short-term missions trip, but you just don't have the energy, or maybe there's just some other physical ailment that you just can't go and do it. And you're perfect, you've got the intellectual knowledge or the past skills to be perfect for whatever it is they need you to do on that trip, but physically you just don't have the reserves, you don't have the resources to do that.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

That's tragic.

Speaker 1:

It is tragic, and I think about all the different life opportunities we have. I mean seeing your children and grandchildren grow up and all the important milestones that you want to be there for them and all the travel that you might want to do and experience the world and see God's creation. I love the idea of missions trip. That was a great thing to think about. You've been called to do something. I mean, maybe you want to go to Israel and experience that and maybe you want to volunteer at the nursing home. Maybe you want to be able to have the strength to be out helping your elderly neighbors, even when you're elderly, you can do that.

Speaker 2:

Or maybe the ability to do that If there's been a disaster and you want to be on the relief team to help go into a community, help them clean up, help them do whatever they need in that moment of crisis, but you can't because you just again don't have the physical reserve to go and do that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we don't want to spend another year missing out on all that God has created us to do and to be Okay. So what are some of the other things that we've come to believe? We're just stuck with once we have them, or we think it's just what happens as we get older.

Speaker 2:

Well, other very common ones are high blood pressure we mentioned this all the time High cholesterol, type two diabetes, different cancers, digestive cancers, blood cancers, breast cancer, prostate cancer.

Speaker 1:

Low energy pain. I mean just general things like that. I have fibrocystic breast disease. It's gone. There's so many different things we've had that we dealt with. High cholesterol gone, reverses. We see it time after time after time. Blood pressure is coming back to normal as you age. Right, this is not what we're told is normal, but this is what should be. But you've got to escape these lies that the enemy tells you. We have a member that recently has reversed his type 2 diabetes. It's gone. His A1C started out at 11.4, which is very high. Oh, super high and down to 6, now 6.0. So some would still say Almost half. Yeah, some would still say, oh, that's pretty diabetic. In some ranges Now people consider that not diabetic at all, but I can guarantee you it is going to keep coming down. It will be in the fives the next time he has his blood work drawn. It's just incredible what's happening. We have another member who was pre-diabetic. She completely reversed that. It's gone. She also dealt with things like reflux. For 14 years she was on Nexium and with all the side effects that that brings. She doesn't take Nexium anymore. She has no reflux. It's gone. We have members that have gone from a size 14 to a size 4. Naturally, and she says, I have food freedom. I have food freedom. I don't have the neck pain I used to have. It was like a nine out of 10 when we first met her. It's gone. She's now traveling in Europe doing things serving, doing things she's always wanted to do. It's awesome seeing her do that. And there are so many other benefits. We think about just reversing the disease. Oh, that's the benefit. I would feel so much better. But the real thing is, what are you going to be able to do this year and next year and the next year and the next year that you would not have been able to even think about doing if you were still stuck in the lies.

Speaker 2:

But I also want to highlight the point what about the compounding effect of that? So let's say this next year you make these changes, you start feeling better, you get out, you start meeting new people serving in different ways. What about those people that you meet First? You can make a difference in their life because they see you and they say, wow, I remember when you were like this, this way that you are now, but now you have so much more energy. What did you do? You become an ambassador for this lifestyle. You can teach them, also to them.

Speaker 1:

And help them get free.

Speaker 2:

Help them with the freedom and to get that energy to live the life they were meant to live, but also too. What about those connections?

Speaker 1:

That would have never been made if you were still sitting at home, exhausted and just you have this great idea, but I'll never be able to do that.

Speaker 2:

Now you have the energy, but what if you make the connection and someone else has another contact? So let's say you want to start a business in a specific field and you don't really know where to go with it and you share this with someone. Oh, I know this guy, Frank, and he's got connections. It'd be perfect. He could get you started. That never would have happened. So now you're growing a business. Now you're creating maybe a non-profit organization for whatever is just on your heart to do. There's such a compounding effect in what can happen. It can become so much greater than just. I. Would just like to have energy to be able to go check my mail, and I'm not dismissing that. No, that's huge. That's a great first step. That's huge. But then there's so many more layers and levels up that you can go with this.

Speaker 1:

Right, and this reason this is the reason the enemy wants to keep you stuck. You, as a believer, are made in the image of your creator. You're representing him here on this earth. How do we want to represent him? I want to live my fullest life. I want to hear him say well done, good and faithful servant. And it's real hard to do that when you spend those years exhausted and you're barely trying to survive. And if the enemy can keep his thumb on you and keep pressing you down with the lies that you believed. You feel like you're stuck. You feel like there's no way out. You need somebody to tell you there's a way you can do this. People do it often. It's not hard, it's just different.

Speaker 2:

And the reality of the situation is that our adversary, our enemy, doesn't have to destroy us or defeat us.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

He can cripple us, and the sad reality of that is he's not even having to really convince us. We're already doing it because we believe we must have meat for protein, that we must have dairy for calcium. We're not even fighting him.

Speaker 1:

Right, all these things that we just believed.

Speaker 2:

All the things that we believe we're doing willingly and it's harming us. And listen, this is just the hardcore reality. This is the tough love reality of the situation. We have been and we were there. We have been willingly and even excitedly doing the things that were causing us harm. Right, they were holding us back.

Speaker 1:

Right, and I feel like those are other lies that he's planted as well, though I mean he's worked it so craftily.

Speaker 2:

And we just willingly go. He's crafty Unknowingly, but willingly we just follow along.

Speaker 1:

Right. So you've been taught these messages through marketing, through magazines, through billboards, through TV shows, through advertisement. Milk it does the body good, Beef it's what's for dinner All these different things you've been taught. Well, they can't say certain things anymore, though they used to say all these wonderful things like eggs are healthy, Now they can say it's the incredible edible egg. Because they're not allowed to say it's healthy because it's not.

Speaker 2:

Or got milk. Got milk right. They can't say it does the body good anymore.

Speaker 1:

No, they're not allowed to do that anymore. Have you noticed how that messaging has changed? So, thank goodness, some of the lies are being crushed, but there are so many of them still out there and it's time to start crushing the lies. Listen, it's not just about that disease that you want to see gone Nine times out of 10, you can be freed from that, but the opportunities are going to open up for you. You think it's going to be expensive. The enemy says, oh, it's going to be so expensive. Listen, we have a whole episode on that. Go back and listen to episode 254. This actually is a lower cost of living. When you know how to do it, it is not hard. You got to think about beans and rice and potatoes. Come on, these aren't the king's meal things, the king's price tag. Walk by the meat counter and price it. Go back and listen to that episode. We talk about that. You're going to be freed up in so many areas Getting your energy back, getting your life back. Think about not spending all your time, the time you're going to get back, when you're not sitting at the doctor's appointments, when you're not standing in the line at the pharmacy, when you're not dealing with the side effects that come with the medications. Now, jare and I have said many times we're not against medication.

Speaker 2:

We're not against medication.

Speaker 1:

But they are way overused. There's a time and there's a place, and we've come to see them as our savior. And they're not your savior. They weren't put here to save you from every little thing. Oh, I have that, I'll just pop a pill. I have that, I'll just pop a pill. Listen, get to the root. It's time to get to the root cause of the problem so you can be free and you can be, and we want you to be. That's our heart for you. Getting help does not have to require deprivation. You can have things that taste great. You've just got to know how to do it. For me, it was cheese. I'm not going to be able to eat cheese anymore. You mean, I got to give up dairy. I've got to give up my meat. Oh, I love meat. It's so good. No, you're going to have new ways to have those same things you love to eat. It's just going to love your body back. It will still taste good, but it will be the simplest way you've ever cooked. It'll be the quickest way you've ever cooked. You are going to get free in so many ways You're not even going to believe what this is going to do for your life. This is a no-brainer. This is a no-brainer. $3 a day for right, at $3 a day the price it would cost you to get a cup of coffee at Starbucks Probably way less if you drink the coffee I used to drink. Okay, this is a no-brainer. Get inside, get the help you need, but don't just go in there and start amassing knowledge like you would if you went to YouTube and you started watching video after video and learning I'm taking notes and doing this and doing that. There's plenty of information that is going to get you results on the inside of power and plant society, but you don't want to just amass information. This is about a lifestyle change and what Jared and I see a hundred percent of the time is that a hundred percent of the people they get in and get active, they start posting what they're doing, even though it's not perfect. They start sharing their ideas, they start asking their questions and getting the answers they need. This is when the momentum happens. These are the people that ten out of ten times get results. They reverse their type eddies, we see it or at least their numbers come way down so they don't need all that medication, so that they're feeling better, they're fully living and thriving. These diseases that we've talked about today, that we know our lifestyle related, they start reversing. I've gotten my life back. The edema has gone. Listen, go back and listen to Christy's story, episode number 253. She talks about what is it like on the inside of power and plant society? How has my life changed as a result? She's only been in for six weeks, six weeks. What if six weeks, your swelling could go down. Your energy level could go through the roof. You started a business that you've been dreaming about for years. You're now planning it and dreaming about it because you know you finally feel like doing it. You could actually do this thing. Hey, this may be really possible for me, because I've now broken free from the lives of the enemy. He is not gonna keep me stuck.
