And even though we're medical professionals, we still weren't getting practical answers that actually worked. So we dug into the research, we started living what we learned. And now we both of our lives back. And that's what we want for you to the truth is you can do this, and it's not hard, you just need a way that will bring real and lasting change. And that path, it has to be simple and enjoyable. And it's got to be delicious, too. So are you ready to live your life to the fullest, then you're in the right place, because Living without limits. That's what power plants is all about. So pull up your chair, grab a matcha latte, and let's get started. Welcome back to power on plants, we are so happy to have you here with us today. And we want you to know that we are so proud of you because you stuck with a non part series. And I know if you think about where you started and where you are today, that you're in a better place already, even after just nine days, if you've been taking action. If you haven't been taking action, go back and think about with each one. Even if you just look at the title, think about what you learned. And we're going to be reviewing that for you today. So think about those different steps. And one, just one simple thing you can do, don't ever let yourself get overwhelmed. So one simple action tasks from each of the categories. That's the seven steps on the power plant Success Path. And that's what our trainings all built around. Because we know this is about so much more than just recipes. You know, when we started this journey, and we started looking and going okay, fruits and vegetables are going to be great for us. And they're good for our body to heal. We went back and started digging into research to find what do we eat and trying to figure out how to eat them. And all we could find were a lot of recipes. And that can be really frustrating and overwhelming. Because you're just trying to figure it all out on your own and you don't know what to do. So this is the system that will work to strategically get you from where you are to where you want to be. You just have to start taking those simple action steps along the way. Did you have something you want to say? No, you're awfully quiet today,

Jarrod:

I'm just I'm listening to the great information that you're given.

Anita:

Well, I'm gonna go on and start a just a recap of actually, let's not recap actually, let's go into this step. If you haven't heard that other front, we start on 119 for this series, so go to episode 119 because each step in the series builds on the next. Don't have to listen to them all in one day. But just listen to as much as you can. I love listening to podcasts when I'm cooking. When do you like to listen to podcasts most?

Jarrod:

I've historically done it more when I'm in the car.

Anita:

In the car

Jarrod:

In the past when I've had a 30 minute...

Anita:

What about now what do you do now?

Jarrod:

Just in the in between times because now I don't have a commute anymore.

Anita:

Isn't that nice?

Jarrod:

That is nice actually.

Anita:

Workin the business full time is so much fun, because we're getting to help more people this way. I feel like you know, Jarrod is a Physician Assistant in case you didn't know, and I'm a nurse as well. And so we also have, we went back and got more trainings education area.

Jarrod:

So I'm certified in lifestyle medicine.

Anita:

And I got certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. And we did that because we were so passionate about this way of living. And we just wanted to we want to keep learning more and more and more, we're still on the journey of growth, you should always be on the journey of growth. Okay, so I'm gonna get going here into the step number seven of the success path. This is the ninth part in the series, because in the first two parts, we really needed to do an intro of what this is and why it's important. And that's why it's important to listen to those first it just lays that groundwork that foundation that you need. So today step number seven of the success path is total health. Why is total health important? Aren't you the whole food plant based go to people? Absolutely. That's what we do. That's what we're passionate about all about just the food, not just the nose, not just the food? No. And the food is one of the big key. So why are the first six steps well, they're not all about food, either that mindset, right? Correct. So this is important and environments, not just the food, it is the food somewhat but it's also different things. So we're going to go through that at the end and wrap all that up for you. But food is a huge key why because many of the lifestyle diseases today, people think are genetic, or we think it's our age. I'm just getting older. That's why I'm hurting. That's why I'm aching. That's why I have low energy. That's why I'm getting diabetes because my mother had it my grandmother had it it was just bunching and things like that. And what research is showing us today and what testimonials are showing us today, what our own testimonial can show you is that These things can be reversed. I mean, many of the most common diseases like what chaired like,

Jarrod:

well, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease and

Anita:

autoimmune diseases. Yeah, that's another. I mean, there's he, oh, yeah, asthma, I have had autoimmune diseases. And we couldn't figure out what it was, you know, it's crazy going through, if you've ever gone through something where you go to the doctor, and you try to figure out what's going on, you have all these strange symptoms. And you know, you're not crazy, because you're having the symptoms, but they can't seem to put their finger on it. And all of a sudden, you start making these changes, the biggest one being the food, you start making that change, and then things can start happening really fast. And we like to help people get the ball rolling really fast. And so we focus on the food because we're passionate about it.

Jarrod:

Well, and that's part of I call it your superpowers, it's your zone of genius is the food, but also can make the biggest impact initially

Anita:

true, but the food is about so much more than the recipes, you gotta learn how to balance it and different things around the food. But today, the big thing is we're talking about healthy living in general, like whole total health. So this category is total health. So you want to look at things in this category, like your career? Do you have career satisfaction? If you don't? How could you do some things differently? And there's a whole lot of things you could dig into around this area? Sleep? How's your sleep? Are you going to sleep? Well? Are you sleeping well through the night? Is something interrupting your sleep? Why aren't you sleeping? Well, if you're not

Jarrod:

just consider sleep, a period of laziness. I mean, there are some people that feel like sleep can be sacrificed. Because you're not really doing anything, I don't really need it, I'm just gonna go down to three or four hours of sleep at night, I can be more productive during the day have more awake hours. But there's a lot of stuff that happens in your body when you're asleep, a lot of healing that can happen. Actually, it is known that when you're in appear to study, say, you're a student, so you're trying to learn something new, that whatever you learned during that day, those memories go from short term to long term when you sleep. So when you're not sleeping, you're not getting the benefit of all that time that you spent trying to learn that new thing

Anita:

exactly. And then the other, I will hear a lot of things around sleep. But one thing I'm thinking about right now is the fact that sometimes you think, Well, I'm getting seven or eight hours of sleep, but what kind of quality of sleep. So it's not just the amount of hours huge. It's the quality. And then we're learning and studying more and, and digging into things on in this area too. And you start saying things like your sleep wake cycle, and how it really should kind of mirror the day night cycle, the light cycle, but yet, we're staying up a lot of people light, light, light, light, and then getting up early in the morning. And so we're not giving our body, those hours have to do with the amount of sunshine and the amount of dark and you just sleep better when it's dark outside. So one thing that I wish I could do differently around my career, when I was younger is for years I work night shift as an RN. I mean, that is rough on the body. Yeah, there are certain things that are pleasing about non shift night shift. But if you're going day to night, day to night, if I could go back and tell myself one thing around sleep, it would be a Anita find a job where you're working day shift as much as you can. Right now I feel like you know, looking back, I might not have had some of the problems I had had, if my body had gotten proper sleep and not shifted Day to Night Day to Night, we're just not meant to do that our bodies weren't created

Jarrod:

when it makes sense, because it's only been in the last what probably a couple 100 years where there's been the light source other than something like a candle or an oil lamp where you have light at night, but it was not typically a very bright light. And it was usually more of a red light, which would not disrupt your day night cycling. But now we have these TVs and computers going on switch and you can have these bright lights and but it throws our bodies for a loop because it's now confused. What once told it it was daytime versus nighttime, it's now we're getting this light all the time. And our bodies just don't know what to do with that. Because again, there are certain things that happen within our body at nighttime, that must be done to optimize your health.

Anita:

Absolutely, that is so true. And so sleep is really crucial. Daniel Amen studies the brain and we've ever looked at some of his things and read many of his research findings and just talking about it can actually your brain can shrink coming when you're not getting proper sleep, it affects your brain and they can see that when you start getting proper sleep and getting proper nourishment and all those different things that our body needs that we're talking about in this category. All of a sudden your brain can start healing I mean it's amazing some of those things can reverse

Jarrod:

that actually reminds me of something where I had also read where they say that at nighttime when you're able to sleep that and I won't go into all the details of why this happens but your brain is actually able to get rid of some of the that toxic buildup that occurs during the day but that only happens at night when you're asleep and getting good sleep.

Anita:

It's really important really important and then getting outdoors I mean things like that. How often are we getting outside you know, because our lives nearly enough. Yeah, no, our lives now are built Around walls. I mean, we're inside working, we're inside at home when we go home, and we were created to be outdoors. And so the more we're inside, the more health really does suffer. And then when you're inside a lot, I mean, you think about how much you're inside versus outside. And then when you're inside a lot, how often do you open your windows? How often do you open your doors, we need the fresh air, we need the sunshine, if you're not getting the sunshine, you're not getting vitamin D. And vitamin D is a hormone basically. And so it affects your body,

Jarrod:

in a lot of ways sleep energy, it affects your immune system, a lot of different things, it affects

Anita:

your appetite. So if you're dealing with weight issues, and you're not getting the appropriate amount of sleep, and you're not getting outside to get vitamin D, I mean those things affect your appetite. It's all interconnected, right. And then other things like moving movement, you know, a lot of people say got to exercise and they think that just exercise alone is going to help you lose weight, and all these other things. And while exercise is great for you, you need to exercise, okay, but we think about going to the gym, I don't want to go to the gym, I can't go to the gym. I'm too busy. I hate going there, because you're inside four walls again, right? So look at ways I could start combining some things like how can I move more and get outside at the same time? Could I made a friend and go do something can I you know, even go walking and talking or Yes,

Jarrod:

exactly. As simple as just going for a 30 minute walk,

Anita:

or finding a sport or something that you've always wanted to take up a hobby that involves being outdoors, birdwatching, or whatever just I mean, there's so many different things that we talk about and teach around. And, you know, you just got to find those things that you enjoy doing. So it's again, it's like eating the foods, we talk about this all the time, you've got to find plant based joy. Well, when it comes to getting outside and moving more, you've got to find the things that you actually enjoy, not just a checklist, I've got to get outside more, and I've got to exercise more, because it's never going to last. So you got to find ways to work that into your life, that it becomes a habit that you actually to enjoy.

Jarrod:

And what we'd like to encourage you to do is don't just think about exercise as being this set. thing of having go to a gym. And I think that's what a lot of people do. They hear the word exercise and their minds always go to this one specific thing. I want you to start thinking just like you said, movement. But what could you do? That's moving that you would enjoy, right? I mean, something we discovered not too long ago was pickleball. I mean, you're getting outside, you're moving, you're playing you're with other people

Anita:

building relationships, which is one of our keys here that we're about to talk about. Anytime you can involve other people and build relationships at the same time, or combine different areas of this, like you're getting outdoors and moving. And you're with other people. I mean, you're working on three levels of title help that we talk about, which would be relationships, getting outdoors and movement.

Jarrod:

And another thing that I saw in the neighborhood, not too too long ago, also, yes, rock sacking is basically people putting weights inside of a specially designed backpack. And I say that because you probably would want to take an old backpack and stick a 50 pound away, because it might rip through the bottom of it. But I mean, it's, I don't know, 3040 50 of them go walking, and they have the weight in their backpack. So it helps to add a little extra resistance. And they're just they're walking, and they're talking and they're enjoying and they're having fun. So I want you to think really outside the box with this. And if you really if you think I have no idea what then get online, you know, go to duck duck, go or go to Google or one of those other ones and just start searching it. But we want you to think not that I can't but how can I you know, what could I do that I enjoy? That's moving outdoors.

Anita:

So what are some other things under Title help that you want to think about? Personal growth. We talked about this before for us. I mean, anytime you're doing something like we've been on this journey for years and years, but the thing is, is you got to keep learning no matter what your you're doing in life, because if you keep learning, you're gonna stay inspired, you're gonna stay excited. And you might think I don't have time for that, well, you have time to listen to this podcast, doing whatever you're doing. I mean, if you're planting flowers outside, you can put on headphones, or we'll take a little speaker outside sometimes and we'll play music or play a

Jarrod:

JBL Clip that's that it'll actually clip onto your belt loop or whatever. And it does, it plays by Bluetooth. So you can set your phone on the inside if I wanted to wherever and it has about a 50 to 100 foot range. So you can just set it beside you

Anita:

right so if you think I don't have time to I don't have time to read so you're doing listen to an audio book or you're listening to a podcast or however you enjoy learning, whatever that is for you. Do it keep learning talk to other people about what they're doing. Get in community with other people who are doing what you're doing that is huge. Because not only will it give you new ideas, you're going to be sharing new ideas helping other people on their journey, but that just encourages you. I mean, you'll get out of those situations. You'll walk away inspired and excited. This happens for us All the time still, even today with plant base,

Jarrod:

you were just saying teach other people that actually helps to cement what you're learning, you learn it, you, you bring it in, you internalize this, and then share it with someone else. And then it stays more ingrained, and it just becomes a part of who you are.

Anita:

And then when you're hanging out with each other, you just get in spot you keep inspiring, it's just inspiration. You keep getting over and over and over again, it's like what I did the other day, I mean, I got online and I was just looking around and something came up about cooking barbecue, and I thought, Oh, I miss barbecue. I don't eat a lot. And I have a barbecue recipe in the cookbook, just for sauce. And so we'll put it on our beans and things to make big beans which is really good. And use it on other things as well. But I just or my potato, I'll have it on potatoes but love everything on potatoes. If you haven't been around here long, you may not know yet my love for potatoes and every all things cheesy as well.

Jarrod:

I don't think we've actually tried putting potatoes on top of potatoes, but I'm pretty sure you'd love that.

Anita:

Sounds so good right now I would love that figure

Jarrod:

something out. Maybe put some mashed potatoes on top of like a baked potato that we smash up and well right now.

Anita:

Right now. We're having a pantry crisis because this is the first time in I think my entire life that my pantry has hepatitis in it, and had been meaning to go to the store for about two or three days and where we're just working too hard to get the membership I've been right now. And it's been kind of crazy. And I have not gotten my potatoes.

Jarrod:

I will remedy that soon for you. I promise.

Anita:

I love you. Anyway,

Jarrod:

back to the barbecue.

Anita:

Yeah, you know, you know where I'm going with this right?

Jarrod:

Well, I know you were missing the experience of the sandwich. Yes, that she

Anita:

the flavor, a little good bread, you know, on a whole grain bun or a whole wheat piece of taste. We like a zekiel bread, and we'll type it out and do an open face for a sandwich. So I saw an idea of somebody grading up carrot. And so I thought I am going to do that. And so they had this long drawn out process of how they did it. And I thought I'm gonna write this for the cookbook, I'm gonna make it so simple for my women for my girls, because there's no reason it should have to take this long because it was this whole long drawn out process. So you grade your carrots, you bake them, they get dried up in the oven, and then you put them in on the stove and you do them in skillet and then you put this make the sauce and put it on with my sauce takes probably about two minutes to make. I used to make a sauce a pie took 30. So you'd have to cut up all these ingredients. And you can still add a little extra if you want to. But it really tastes just as good the way it is five minutes or less, you got sauce, okay, so you don't bake the carrots, you don't do all that I'm sitting there thinking I got to try it without all this. So I just grade up and straight into my skillet. I actually what I decided to do was add a little onion first. So I did salt, a little onion just till it was a little soft and brownish, almost completely done like I like it put in my carrots, it takes no time for a graded or shredded carrot, you can grade them on your grade or you can grade them in your food processor doesn't matter. Put those puppies in that in skillet with those onions and saute them until now until they're falling apart. Because you don't want mushy barbecue. Think about if you ate meat, you know what would that texture be? And you're going to cook them till they still have a little bit of a chew like a meat wood. Okay, and then you're going to start that barbecue sauce in from the cookbook. And you're going to put that on top of an open face or if you like to pieces used to use pieces of bread, but I can eat more if I get more sandwiches a lot of times if I do that, because I don't like to overdo my wheat sometimes. So sidetracking there because you can have the bread if you want the bread. But you put take the bread, you put the carrot barbecue on there. And then I do I'm actually writing a recipe right now, I'm about to release inside the membership for this yummy southern coleslaw. And so you put this coleslaw on top of it. And you just you're ready to go. I mean it is every bit as satisfying to me as a pulled be pulled pork, and even a chicken barbecue. It's delicious. But this is what we're talking about in food under the category food recipe upgrades. You've got to know how to make those recipe upgrades to make it really tastes like your favorites, old favorites. But this is all about learning how keep on learning and growing figure out new ways of doing things. Okay. So you always want to be in a place where people are inspiring you to do that. They're posting pictures where you can say what should I do? What can I work on, it's not just even it's not just recipes. As far as prepping the food. You need food formulas that you can prepare your food without even having the recipe so that when you run in the door and you're like at home because everybody's been running errands and the kids had this activity in that you come in the door. And you can make something so quick I mean dinner on the table and 15 minutes or less 30 minutes or less than max. And when you know how to do do those things like this barbecue I gave you it's a formula. Now you don't really even need the recipe once you made the barbecue sauce about once or twice You're gonna know what goes in it, if you get a little more mastered or a little more ketchup, it's not going to change it, it's gonna be delicious. You just make it the way you want it once you know the food formula, and

Jarrod:

by continuing to learn it, like we said, keeps you inspired to help keep things fresh, I was just thinking recipes were kind of like fashion. No matter how much you love that recipe, eventually, you'll get tired of it. It's just like article of clothing, it looks great on you, you love it. But after a while, it'll start to kind of wear down a little bit. And you'll say, Yeah, you know, I've had this for several months, or a year or whatever, and I'm ready for something new. Well, if you constantly keep, keep an eye out for things and keep learning and growing, it'll keep that sense of excitement and that newness, constantly going, instead of just a few recipes, and you think, I don't really like this anymore, I'm kind of bored with it.

Anita:

When it keeps you happy. You're not eating the same bowl of chili every day. I love chili, but I don't want to eat it every day. And that's the only plant base that you know how to make, you're going to get tired of it pretty soon, you want something new and different. And we show people how to get these things together in an app too, so that you can keep them all together, you don't forget the things you've tried. So a lot of times, we would forget the old things, you know, and we would keep learning and this other part of you keep learning and growing. But you want to remember the things you've already done the things you love that tasted great. Well, so if you have a place to save those and get those organized really easily, you can pull them into a mini plan and now don't have to buy mini plans anymore, right? Well, it's kind of like having that shirt that you love that got buried in the back of the closet. And then you find it several months, years later and say, oh, yeah, I

Jarrod:

forgot about that one. Exam helps to keep keep it all well organized.

Anita:

Right? And I love that I'm all about organizing. Because once you have something organized, everything flows better, you can find what you need.

Jarrod:

Oh, it's simplicity. And that falls under also total health. Perez, yes, wasting things simple. It helps to lower the stress, it helps to promote the heaviness. Well, even honestly, inside the membership, we're going to be having some experts come in and talk about organizing, because organizing does like Jared said it affects your stress level. When things are organized in my house, my stress goes way down even now. But even right now we've been simplifying and getting rid of stuff that we've kind of quietly, slowly accumulated. And then once you get rid of that you I know for me, I have felt a weight that goes away that I didn't really notice was there. And it wasn't a crushing weight. But you've had these areas of your life where maybe it's not the best organized. And I think you almost wall it off. But then once you decide I'm going to take care of that and simplify that area, then you realize, Wow, I was kind of avoiding that, that space. And it was a bother, it was kind of a drain mentally, that you didn't know was there. And then once you take care of it, like, wow, this is great.

Anita:

So organizing is a huge time saver, too. I mean, it decreases your stress by saving you time. And I'm all about saving time because we don't have time to burn time is money time is relationships, you spent all that extra time in your closet looking for something, when you could have an easy system to get organized, that you could just spend five minutes a day on. Yeah, I'm all about it. Now, I'm not talking some big course on something that just blows your mind. And now you got something else to try to figure out. Just so simple steps that you can take when over time, it's going to change everything for you. decrease your stress, increase your health, and that's what we're going for total health. Because the truth is, as much as we love and we're all about food because most people just have, we have no idea how to eat even medical professionals. We weren't taught this stuff in school. That's why your doctor doesn't talk about it in your PA if you have one that does stick with them, because you have gold. So yes, you have got to learn what to eat, you got to learn how to eat it, you've got to learn how to balance your plate, all those things are so important with the food, but you can eat all the broccoli in the world. And you can still be unhealthy. I mean, we have clients who thought you know what I knew about the food, I knew what to do. And they still learned new methods learn new things and I thought oh, I'm doing so much better now. And then they're able to tackle some other areas you know, you keep circling back to the food and learning new things like I did with the barbecue. Like I recently did with the fall caramel apples I needed to learn how to make I had to learn how to make those in a way that was healthy chocolate caramel pecans, right? But there's a way you can do that that so much healthier. But it's not just about the fate. It's not just about the food so that's what we talk about here in step seven total

Jarrod:

how you can get the food right but if you don't sleep well at night if you're pulling all nighters or if you have chronic insomnia your health is gonna suffer if you're stressed out and your your tachometer is in the red on your car, your your virtual car, your body, then I mean you're gonna die of a heart attack.

Anita:

I mean, it can happen right and a lot of those other things relationships Yeah, and that that's we talk about that your relationships with God and your relationships with people if those weren't right enough. That's gonna fly, right. And that leads into the stress, which makes you sick. And you're constantly living with this release of hormones stress hormones that you were your body was never meant to live with. And if you have that constant chronic stress hormone going on, because you're not getting the sleep, you're stressed out, your career satisfaction is low, you're not moving enough. All those things are important. They're really important. one another, you've got to learn those simple ways of starting to address those things. And you can keep going, this is a growth process. This isn't like, with our members, we don't want them to come in and go, Oh, great, okay, now I got to learn how to do this and that and this and that. It's just one simple step in each category at a time and then you circle back

Jarrod:

and done, you don't just do it, and then now you're perfected. No,

Anita:

and I think that's part of the problem in the fast food society that we live in, don't you think? Because we're quick mentality, like, give it to me, I gotta have it now. And even I know, like, I've been on this journey for years. I mean, I was in terrible health in my 40s. And now we're at 50, we've just had our 50th birthdays. And I feel so much better. I mean, I look in the mirror, and I look better, and I've lost all these pounds. And I've stayed off and I haven't had to diet, my energy levels through the roof, I have to force myself to get a bed at night. And that's not just my story. I mean, that's typical with eating whole food plant based. But when you can then add in these other things. It's just amazing what what can skyrocket but you don't want to hear add in anything Oh, overwhelm. But if you have somebody to show you, there's simple steps to take on each path. And then you keep circling back around. It's like I was saying, Jared and I do this, we circle back around. Now we're going to learn a new recipe, a new way of making a food formula. Now we're going to learn this and that, because we have those processes in place. Everything is simpler, everything is lower stress. And life is joyful. And it's fun. And it's easy, and it's quicker, and it's cheaper. So to wrap it up the seven steps of the power plant success path, which is about more than just recipes. We all know that now, right? Okay, first thing you need to do is get your mindset, right. Why is that important? Well, that's important because what you think affects the decisions you make, and the decisions you make affect your lifestyle that you live what you do on a daily basis. And if your mindsets wrong, and you can't, you don't have the wrong ones out, they've been holding you back, and you don't have the right ones in their place, you're gonna remain stuck. There's no way you can progress with the wrong mindset. So mindsets, the first step, you have to be able to get that solid mindset that's going to allow you to gain momentum, so that you can start getting the results you're after, and not be miserable in the process. Then step number two is all about environment. What do we do with an environment?

Jarrod:

That's, well, we deal with your food environment, but also the people that surround you?

Anita:

Right? So it's not just the food, it's the people. It's the places it's the things, everything that's around you. Yes, it's the food as well. You're paying tree, getting it organized, what do I eat? All those kinds of things

Jarrod:

are other things in your environment that also affect your food choices and what you consume.

Anita:

Absolutely. And you've got to have a solid environment that is so very, very important. And then you move into step three, that is all about the food. This one lights me up you know it does because I've got to have tasty food. How do you feel about it? Is that your very favorite? Things like of all the all the steps?

Jarrod:

What's the most enjoyable? I like them all. They're all very important. But yes, it is the most enjoyable.

Anita:

Yeah, he's got a big smile on his face right now. He's dreaming of some bolus. Something good. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the veggie soup that we can she

Jarrod:

sees the smile behind the microphone. So you know, it's a pretty big smile.

Anita:

It is a big smile. So this is what do you eat? What food groups do you avoid? And how do you maximize the greatness of the things that you like? So we're talking about recipe upgrades. I love cheese. I can't have cheese anymore. What am I going to do? It's not about what you can't have. It's how can you have it? Right? We talked about that. That's even a mindset thing. So what you've learned in this category, what you learn is how do you make those recipe upgrades? How do you still have your tacos, your pizza, your burgers, your fries, your chips, your all the things that you love your ice cream, your desserts? Yes, you can have all those things without having to count calories and points and all that. So step number three, the food is where we talk about all those exciting and delicious things.

Jarrod:

And the next step, step number four is all about balancing your plate. This is where we talk about making sure you get a good variety of the different categories like fruits, veggies, but also to make sure that you're getting enough of each category that it's balanced. Also looking at color, and make sure you get enough of your purples and your reds and your yellows in your greens. Also balancing raw vs cooked. You do want to be able to get had enough of the rolls if you don't get enough of that, and we're not talking about just salad, there are other ways to enjoy it beyond just the plain salad.

Anita:

Right? And then some people ask us a lot try it fresh, do I eat frozen? And how do I keep from getting too much carbs? How do I get?

Jarrod:

You eaten both fresh and frozen? Yes.

Anita:

And then carbs. And what was that saying about car? Oh people ask us, you know, how do I keep from getting too many carbs? Or how do I get enough protein? Or, you know dealing with fiber? Am I getting enough fiber? Just all those different things? Am I getting enough? How do I get more of what what exactly should I be eating? What should my plate look like?

Jarrod:

Also, the the macros in the micros to making sure that that's balanced? Yeah, so all that in step four,

Anita:

right? So with the macros that would be the fats, the proteins, the carbs, things like that. And then step five, I love this one, too. It's about savvy shopping. So to become a savvy shopper, you've got to learn how to use save time. Because again, time is really important to us. We're busy, right? So you need to learn how to get the right buy the right tools and appliances, you need to learn how to save money, right? saving time and money is all about things like learning how to pre prep things or buy pre prep things. Where do you get those things that will speed you up? How do you where do you shop? Where do you shop? Ah,

Jarrod:

that's huge. And I was thinking the logical next step, when you're talking about food is in where do I buy these foods? How can I get them in a way that's economical?

Anita:

And then how do you prep your veg? You know, is there a way to make Veg prep faster? Absolutely, there is how do you do that? Right? And using food formulas as a part of this to save time and money. But that's not really shot. It's not really shopping? No, not shopping, but it is it makes you think about how do you save time and money? And we talk about that in the other categories as well. But here, it's where do you shop? How do you get the right food to your table quickly? And simply just to make it fast, easy and not break the bank? Right? What are the cheapest places where they also have good quality products. And that's what we want for ourselves and our family as well. And then in the next category is all about simple living. I call this plant based minimalism. You've got to learn how to live in simple ways that work with your lifestyle. We're talking about real life situations here, dining out going to a friend's house for dinner having a friend over what do you cook that a non vegan or non multi plate based person with? Like, I mean, you don't want to invite somebody over and have him just totally grossed out by your new lifestyle, right? So you got to learn? What are the things that would really satisfy somebody like that. And a lot of the things that we teach, I think the majority of our recipes do that that's what I'm always striving to do. Because when you're transitioning, you're the new person, right? You're the person who's got to learn how to eat things, and transition over. And so most of the recipes that we teach would do that.

Jarrod:

Another thing that comes to mind too, with that, though, would be going to an office party, or going to a church function, or where you're going to somebody else's place or space. And then how do you navigate that? Because if you're not the main one cooking, then what do you do to navigate that situation?

Anita:

What if you want work away from home long term? Or what if you love to go camping with your family? Or you go on vacations? Or you're traveling the world? How do you navigate that? What do you eat if you're in a hotel room, and all you have is a mini fridge and a microwave? What do you do if you're camping and all you have is campfire and a cooler? What do you ate, and that's what we talk about here. And then the final step in the power on plant Success Path is total health because again, you can eat all the veg in the world. But if you're stressed out, if you don't get enough sleep, if you have a career you hate if you don't get outdoors enough or open your windows are learned how to move more how to get organized or fixed. The relationships are strained or exactly you don't have a good relationship with God with people you don't you're not growing personally, personal growth is huge for Title help. And so these are all the different areas that you want to work through what I don't want. And I want to reiterate this as for this whole series that we've done to stress you out for you to think I've got seven different categories. I've got a lot I thought I needed just recipes and now got all these. What you need to know is now you have a plan, you know the different areas that need to be tackled, pick one thing from the first category mindset and just get started if you haven't done that already. Okay, go back and listen to the one we done on mindset. Pick one thing, put it into action, because more importantly than you knowing every single thing under every single category is getting do get yourself in the right environment. And being overwhelmed and not knowing what to do, we would have

Jarrod:

Anita:
