Anita:

Imagine the door of possibilities that have been closed for you so long all of a sudden blowing open. What would you do? What will you do when that happens for you? Because if you continue on this path with us, that could very well start happening for you quite rapidly, faster than you even think.

Anita:

It's interesting how the right solution will solve a problem way faster than you could ever imagine possible and finally have the energy to do all the things you want to do. Hi, we're Jared and Anita Roussel Christ followers, health care professionals, parents of four and big fans of great tasting food. We, too, tried exercising more, eating natural and clean foods, but we still found ourselves struggling with what we thought were changes that come with age or bad genes, and we weren't finding answers the traditional route. So we dug into the research and created our secret nutritional weapon sustainable plant-based living. The truth is, you can eat more whole plant foods, and it's not hard. You just need the way that's realistic and delicious so you never feel deprived. If you're ready to enjoy your meals, no longer be held back by your health struggles and actively live your life, then you're in the right place. So grab your favorite plant-based cup of happy pop in those earbuds and let's get started. Hey there, sunshine, welcome to Power on Plants.

Anita:

Recently, jared and I have been answering some of your questions about plant-based eating, and it's been so much fun, and today isn't going to be any different. We are diving deep into this one. The only difference is I'm surprising Jared because he has no idea what we're talking about today. If someone wasn't able to go 100% plant-based, what would be the three best things to incorporate and the three best things to remove? I want to read that one more time If someone wasn't able to go 100% plant-based, what would be the three best things to remove? I want to read that one more time If someone wasn't able to go 100% plant-based, what would be the three best things to incorporate and the three best things to remove?

Anita:

Now I don't know if this is coming from someone who's already tried plant-based, so they feel like they aren't able because they've tried it in a way that's not enjoyable, that takes a long time, that doesn't taste good. They're thinking, maybe I can do some, but there's no way I could do that for life. If that's the case, you're in the right place if you feel that way, because we show you how to do this in the way that you can go 100%, because it is exciting and you're going to love it. But maybe this person wrongly assumes that you can't live without meat and be healthy. You know there's a lot of different places this could be coming from. That also is not true.

Anita:

But maybe, just maybe in their free will, they feel like they're just not ready yet, and that's okay, if you're not ready, you're not ready, but at least the one who's asking this is wanting to eat more plants, and that's our prayer for all of you that the place where you just want to learn how to eat more plants, and that's our prayer for all of you, that you're at the place where you just want to learn how to eat more plants, how to make it work with your real life, how to make it taste great. Be quick, free you up so that you can finally start feeling better. And what we know is that the more whole plant foods you eat, the better you are going to feel, the better you're going to do.

Jarrod:

We're just excited that you're willing to have that conversation, because so many people say nope, can't do it, can't give up my meat, nope, I can never eat vegetables. We actually did have somebody come to our home recently to do a repair. They saw the Power on Plants podcast logo on the back of our van and got just a quick conversation about plants and he said I can't eat vegetables. I just I can't do it. So he wasn't even willing to. So the fact that you're even willing to have that discussion is a great step, because you're opening yourself up to the possibility, and that's what we love here Possibility, such a great place to start.

Anita:

So what she's basically asking is how do I make this work for me, which is such a great question and specifically, what she wants to know is the three best things to incorporate into her life. What are the three best things she should start eating right now and the three best things she should remove from her life? And this is very exciting because it's a big truth that you need to understand. It's not just about what you're eating. It's about what you're no longer going to be eating that's been sabotaging your health. But, as you know from being around here any length of time if you have been, if you haven't been you're going to learn this real fast.

Anita:

I am lit by learning how to find your new favorites. You have to find your new whole food, plant-based favorites, and what I mean by that is the upgraded versions of the foods that you love Pizza, tacos, lasagnaagna, alfredo sauce. For me, it would have been things like barbecue and chicken nuggets and all these things you want to know how to eat because you want to feel like, hey, I'm not missing out and you won't be, but where you can merge, getting the things that are really great for you all those good phytonutrients and you love the way you're doing it. You're golden and that is what we're all about. So this is such a great question, so let's start with the first point. Jared, what would you say would be the three best things to incorporate for those who are starting whole food, plant-based eating?

Jarrod:

There are so many things that go through my mind and this is such a wide open question. It is wide open and there are so many delicious things. I'm thinking all the deliciousness, you could be getting in all the nutrients. I'm thinking more health benefits, but of course I don't completely ignore the deliciousness factor, because that's obviously very integral and has to be there. I think the first thing that comes to mind for me would be adding leafy greens, just because so many people don't get enough of them. They seem to be underrepresented.

Anita:

greens just because so many people don't get enough of them. They seem to be underrepresented. So ask me what number two of my three are. And I didn't put mine in any specific order. So great minds think alike, because I have written down a daily green smoothie and that's just the quickest way. I thought, okay, they want specifics here, so eat more greens. And now you're thinking how do I do that? A daily green smoothie?

Anita:

Now, maybe you've tried a green chunky and you've been burned. We totally get it. Green smoothie does not equal green chunky. Also, maybe you've tried one that started out with a whole lot of greens and you think that was disgusting. So you know that you need to eat more greens, right? We've know that. Most people have known that you needed to eat more vegetables for a long time. But the reason you haven't done it is because you don't know how to make it taste good or you don't know how to make it fit into your current schedule and the way that would work for you. So you've tried one. You've been burned, or you've never tried it because you just thought it looked gross.

Jarrod:

Or maybe you think it's hard.

Anita:

Maybe you think it's hard, or maybe you've seen someone else drinking a green chunky and it looked disgusting. You want to get even an inexpensive Nutribullet. My favorite one's, nutribullet Pro 900. They're not expensive. They even carry them at Walmart right now. So get one of those. You don't have to get the upgraded, the newest, the latest Nutribullet. This one will blend everything and it will blend it to a pulp. You can make smooth cashew creams with it and everything. But you're not going to do that right now, because these aren't the first three things you want to get into your life. It's not cashew cream.

Anita:

Green smoothie, because when you throw your greens, your dark leafy greens in there, your fruits, maybe a few other vegetables, some liquid, learn how to make the green smoothie. If you're an accelerator or an alumni meaning you're an accelerator graduate if you're in those two groups, get in the green smoothie guide, because maybe you're hearing this and you're thinking you know what I haven't been drinking my green smoothies. Do it because this is one of the quickest ways to get so much nutrition, because when you grind it up, it's concentrated. You're bursting open the nutrients. Yes, you want to keep it in your mouth. Mix it with those digestive enzymes that are naturally in your mouth. Right, don't just chug it all back really fast, but open that up before you're're in our program. If you're not, just do what I'm saying, get your Nutribullet Pro 900. Or if you have a blender that blends things extremely smooth, throw a big handful of greens in there and if you don't like how it tastes next time, do a little less greens. Start with the less greens and build it up over time, because your body is going to start craving these things. I promise you that. I promise you your taste buds are going to change. You will be craving totally different things. It's going to blow your mind, but just start and find the mixture that you like and then start switching it up a little bit.

Anita:

So, big handful of greens, maybe a few nuts to make it creamy, or a splash of nut milk. Just check the ingredients label. You don't want to have all those ingredients in there that aren't good for you in your nut milk, right, you can just throw nuts, some water in there, you have nut milk, just a couple. If you throw a lot, you're going to have it very chunky, very thick, very creamy. You don't want that Literally the things of nut milk you buy in the store probably have about two or three nuts in them I'm not kidding you because you want to put in your berries. Get that color and a little banana. I like banana because it makes it sweet. So something sweet a date, a banana, something to make it sweet. If it's not sweet enough, add a little bit more for yourself. Yes, you don't want to eat a ton of the sweetest sweet things, but just start there. Such a great way to get greens. Make that green smoothie.

Jarrod:

Bananas will also thicken it up some too.

Anita:

Love it, absolutely love it. Jared and I have about a million and one ways we can show you how to get more greens into your life easily and quickly. We go through all of these in the accelerator course. Get in there now at poweronplantscom forward slash accelerator. I'm telling you it is going to be worth its weight in gold, because in there we teach you our five-step proven framework for making whole food plant-based, enjoyable and exciting, so that it lasts. It's quick, it's easy, it's delicious. You absolutely need it. We walk you through how to make things in the kitchen. We show you all these things and we answer your questions as you go anita, how to make a green smoothie that doesn't taste gross. I take you in the kitchen. I can show you how.

Jarrod:

And true to the name Accelerator. It will fast track your success.

Anita:

Absolutely. That's why we chose the name, right? You want to get there faster. You don't want to just get there and try to figure it out 10, 15 years down the road. You know some about it, but it's just what you kind of piece together.

Jarrod:

Would you rather have success over 15 years or 8 to 12 weeks? Right, I would take the 12 weeks. Me too, because you're going to get there faster and then be able to enjoy and benefit from the improvement you get for that remaining part of the 15 years.

Anita:

It's so much simpler. Even if it took you 16 weeks, even if it took you four months, it's going to be so much faster than you could have done it before when you have someone who's gone there and can show you the way. So the number one food you want to get more of into your life is leafy greens. We could go on and on just on this one thing. We're not going to, because we could tell you all the benefits and all the vessels that could open and all the things it's going to do for you. You need more leafy greens into your life. Number one get those. Find the way you enjoy it so that it sticks. And what's your second one?

Jarrod:

And we're talking about like just second concept or second food item.

Anita:

Well, her question was what should be the three best things to incorporate Things If you weren't able to go 100% whole food plant-based. So if you're just doing some plant-based and you want to eat more plants, what are the three best plants to start incorporating into your life? The three best things she said. I'm assuming she's asking specific.

Jarrod:

I'm trying to think of the three concepts that would have the biggest initial impact. So the green smoothies for the number one. Number two, I'm just thinking more raw foods. It doesn't have to be 100%, but more raw. That way you're getting the living nutrients, the enzymes, the things that could potentially be denatured if it gets cooked. You're not saying cooked food's bad, but definitely a good balance. So if all the food is cooked, maybe start trying to get some of that percentage of it raw. My favorite way is oats in the morning, because I don't cook my oats.

Anita:

This is so good. We didn't plan this. My number one food to get was oats in the morning. Oats in the morning loaded with colorful berries. Okay, simple breakfast with loads of color and phytonutrients, but you don't even have to cook it, like Jared's saying.

Jarrod:

Yes, I don't cook mine ever.

Anita:

How do you make it? Tell them how you make it.

Jarrod:

I just I take oats. This is Jared's morning oats. Now, if you listened to a podcast two or three years ago, I have changed it a little bit. So now, yes, I branched out, but now I'm stuck on my newest favorite. I've been on this one for about a year year and a half but I take raw oats, take a cup of raw oats, put it in my bowl and then I take a heaping half tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice. Thank you, fall. You got me addicted, pumpkin pie spice. We had some back in October, november, so I thought well, we have some, it's the season for it. But I love the nutmeg and the cinnamon and all the spices that are in there. I will also put a little dab of some extra cinnamon because I do love the kick of that, and I'll put some vanilla powder because the vanilla, along with the warming spices yeah, it just blends well together.

Anita:

We're not talking about the white vanilla powder. This is actual vanilla bean ground up. It's delicious. Try it if you haven't tried that yet.

Jarrod:

Previously, for a time or two I made nut milk and I thought, okay, what can I do to speed up this process? So I put water in it. Now you can mash the oats and it will create kind of like an oat milk in it. But I thought I want a little more creaminess to this. So we have a soy milk that we buy Organic has nothing but water and soybeans in it and it does have a creaminess.

Jarrod:

So I'll splash a couple of ounces in that and then I mix it. And then I mix it and then just start with a spoon right Start with a spoon. And because I didn't add any sweetener, like I would if I was making plant milk by itself, because when we make plant milk we'll add a date or two for the sweetness. So what I thought? Thinking simple, we have date syrup in our cabinet, so I will drizzle some of that and then a little bit of honey for that honey flavor, and then I'll mix that in so that sweetens it and then I do stir it, but I'll kind of mash the oats a little bit so that way some of that oatiness comes out of the oats you know what he's doing.

Anita:

You can even do this with water. You don't have to use plant milk. You can use the back of your spoon, mash it in that water and it makes oat milk. Well, that's what I do but you're making it thicker and you've already added the soy milk.

Jarrod:

So now, you just for a little extra creaminess.

Anita:

That's double creamy oats. That's what you, what you should call that Jared's double creamy oats. That's it.

Jarrod:

I'll do that.

Anita:

Yeah, okay. So here's what I love about this when you start talking with people in your family and let me tell you, if you don't have a whole food plant based family, you need to get into ours right now by joining our free group right now at powerandplantscom forward slash P-I-E. That's powerandplantscom forward slash pie, because things are changing in there and it's about to get even more exciting. And we already have so much excitement going on because you can literally search every single podcast episode with our search function in there, plus, everything anybody's ever posted in the group is all searchable. But when you search the podcast, it searches every word Jared and I have ever said on a podcast Think about, just let your mind explode with the possibilities of what you're going to be able to accomplish as even an advanced plant-based eater when you have a resource like this of two healthcare professionals, a physician assistant certified in lifestyle medicine, and now you have a nurse with her BSN who's worked in nursing for years and is an integrative nutrition health coach on top of that and just went all in when she was dealing with her own health struggles that kept amassing and didn't know what to do, and she dug into the research with her husband and figured all this stuff out. So now you have us recording over 350 at this point and growing episodes that you can search. This is our community service content for you. We literally have people who started getting massive results just by doing what you're doing right now Listening, listening while you're in the shower, listening while you're in the car.

Anita:

Doing one simple thing from each podcast episode they listen to and go and get the cookbooks at poweronplantscom forward slash cookbook. This is what they literally did. I could name off people after people, after person after person. My blood pressure is back down. I don't need blood pressure medication anymore. I'm off my cholesterol medication. You're not gonna believe this. I'm feeling so much better. How can I work with you? What is the next step? Like I want to know how to go all in. I've only gone three-fourths in and I know. If I'm getting this kind of results, I want you to take me by the hand and show me what to do. That's what we do inside Accelerator.

Anita:

But again, this is our community service content. Yes, it costs something. It costs us a lot of time. We put a lot of work, a lot of love into this. That's why we don't call it free. We call it community service content because we're here to serve you and love on you and start getting you results.

Anita:

We don't want you to stay stuck. It's been far too long for you dealing with these struggles and not getting the answers. And why has nobody told me this? And I didn't even know it was possible to reverse autoimmune disease. I didn't know it was possible to reverse IBS rheumatoid. I didn't know it was possible to get these migraine headaches out of my life.

Anita:

But when you start getting rid of these things, what Jared and I've seen going from the shift of being healthcare practitioners who helped people manage their disease, we now have shifted to helping people actually prevent and even reverse disease. And what our heart is and what we see time after time, is you're freed up to now. Start living your life, your God-given calling that was sitting on a shelf, that you kept dreaming of and wishing you could do. Running and playing with your kids, traveling, doing all these things in life that you wanted to do. Starting a business, building your business to the next level. You couldn't do those things before because you didn't know the three things to start with right. You didn't know the three things that you should start eating right away. You didn't even have an idea where to start.

Jarrod:

And simple changes can yield big results.

Anita:

Yes. So get in our community service group at powerimplantscom forward slash pie. It's going to cost you something. You're going to have to take the time to get in there and get involved, but I can promise you this is going to be so much cheaper. The time that you put into listening while you're on the road, the time that you put into searching up the answers that you need, getting there, asking the questions, sharing what you're already making and doing is going to give you your next idea. You don't understand it, but when you start sharing with people the stuff you're doing, you are going to get your next idea. And your next idea it may come from them, because it's going to keep growing and growing and you have this incredible resource a family in there.

Anita:

And when you all get in there and say you know what, I'm tired of just being a bystander, I'm tired of just sitting in here and watching and reading other people's posts. I want to become active in this. And when you do, your brain cells start working. You'll be telling something you do and it'll make you think of something else. Why haven't I done that before? It's amazing how this works. God created us to live in community and we go farther and we go faster when we go together. And it's absolutely true, get in the group right now. It's going to change your life. And if you don't know where to start and you're just like this at the beginning of your journey or you've tried this so many times and you've fallen off the wagon, get the cookbooks right now at poweronplatescom forward slash cookbook. They're absolute no brainers when it comes to quick, easy, delicious recipes you are going to love.

Anita:

So the funny thing is, we're talking about bouncing ideas off of each other, like when you come into our community service group, right? So you're going to be in there getting ideas and getting new ideas by sharing with each other. This is what just happened with me and Jared. We're kind of on the same wavelength here, though, because we're sharing the three things you want to get into your life, right? So we've shared about first. I said you want the green smoothies, because Jared said greens. I already had written down green smoothies, so now his next thing is raw, and he starts talking about raw oatmeal. Well, think about this, wrap your mind around this. Green smoothies Our first thing also falls under raw, so you can wipe out two of Jared's categories raw and green with green smoothies. So now really, he has to give me two more things. That's kind of funny actually.

Jarrod:

Now for Jared's oats. We can't forget. Jared's double creamy oats is that I will add blueberries or strawberries to them or fresh cut mangoes and a little bit of fruit to them.

Anita:

Oh yeah, gotta have the fruit that tops it off, or?

Jarrod:

I might add more than one fruit if I'm feeling a little saucy.

Anita:

So good, I might not make you give us two more, because really you did say oats and green smoothie, but they did both fall under raw, which was really good. Well, I said raw. No wait, you said raw and greens. And I said oats smoothie. And what's your third thing? Let's see if they kind of overlap any.

Jarrod:

I thought I gave you a third thing.

Anita:

What was the third thing you gave?

Jarrod:

I thought it was the green. Eat more greens.

Anita:

Uh-huh, eat raw, raw, oh oats were your third thing, but those were the raw thing. That was your raw example.

Jarrod:

I said oats as an example of raw.

Anita:

You're right, you're right.

Jarrod:

Okay, so a third thing. Well, while you're stumped.

Anita:

Well, there's so many different things. What are some things that came to mind? Just give me two.

Jarrod:

Well, one thing that comes to mind are beans, because those are known to be very healthy, even if you don't change your typical diet if you add beans to it. They've noticed that it doesn't add any extra weight and it adds extra health benefits, even longevity, to your life, Right?

Anita:

And it also keeps you full longer. They're very satisfying. They're one of the stir foods. I call them stir foods, s-t-y-r. Stick to your ribs. You want to get these foods into your life at all times, but they also feed your gut bacteria. All whole plant foods do. Yes, they also feed your gut bacteria.

Anita:

All whole plant foods do but beans are great at this with all the fiber in them, so plant foods are filled with fiber. Animal products have none Get more. Beans Love that. That is such a great thing to add as the third.

Jarrod:

And beans are also good for minerals, so if you're wanting to improve any of your minerals iron, copper, manganese beans- you know what I love?

Anita:

that one and our third ones are so similar because, again, I didn't say beans. Guess what I did say Stir S-T-Y-R, stick to your ribs Salad. So I know you think, oh, salad, I don't want to eat salad. You need to switch up your salad game and you need a new sauce. Go and listen to our salad episodes, anita. I don't know what episode numbers those are off the top of my head. I don't either. But guess what you can do? You can go into our free group at poweronplatescom, forward slash P-I-E and then in that search bar, that little magnifying glass Bottom right hand corner.

Anita:

Click it Bottom right hand corner. Click it and type in salad and I promise you it's gonna bring up every time we've ever said salad in any episode and you can press play and it'll take you to the exact moment in that episode. You don't have to scrub through it, try to find it. I'm not kidding you. Wrap your mind around how crazy this is. We should have explosive numbers inside the community service group after you listen to this episode. If not, it's just something sitting there like on a shelf that you could be using, taking yourself to the next level. Get in and get involved.

Jarrod:

You don't have time not to and down the road you're going to look back and think why didn't I use this sooner? So just go ahead and do yourself a favor and do it now.

Anita:

Do it now. Okay, so we're on the same path again. On this third thing that you need, I'm saying stir or stick to your rib salad. You're saying beans. That's again something that just really sticks to your ribs, makes you feel satisfied and adds a lot of nutrients. I know we were both thinking about nutrients here when you said what are the three things I need?

Anita:

Greens. Together we've said greens, raw oats, smoothie. Listen, I know you probably heard some people say you need to chew your food. Don't drink a smoothie. Just get the smoothie. You're trying to get more nutrients in your life and you want to eat three things that are new. Get a smoothie. You're going to get a lot more than three things in that smoothie and it's going to make your body happy and your life is going to start to change. It will look different. You will no longer be the same person. Just trust us on this.

Anita:

We haven't just had this happen for us. We're not just somebody out there saying to you hey, this could happen for you, maybe because it happened for me. No, we've seen the research. It has happened for both of us. We lost 75 pounds together and have kept it off, never trying to diet, never trying to count calories, having to portion control, none of that stuff. So you can trust us.

Anita:

We've reversed multiple diseases of our own, but then we've walked other people through how to do this, step by step by step. And guess what? When they do it, they get results. They start feeling better. We see it time and time and time again. We know it works. So a stick to your ribs salad has to have stick to your ribs things on it, things like beans, potatoes. But go and listen to those episodes, get in the free group, search it. You're going to find exactly what you need there. Now second part of her question the three best things to remove. So I think what she's asking is what is sabotaging me the most that I need to get rid of right away? Give me three, jared.

Jarrod:

All right. Well, the first immediate one is refined oils, because we know from personal experience that was making the biggest negative impact on your health as far as the stiffness, the aching, the pain and the low energy.

Anita:

Joint pain was extreme. Once I came off the oils it went away. It went away. So if you've been hurting, it is worth learning how to cook without oil. It will blow your mind. I know you don't think it's possible. I grew up in a southern down-home barbecue restaurant. Trust me, I think most everything we made had oil in it or was fried in oil. I'm not kidding you and my mom and my dad.

Anita:

They tried to cook healthy, Like they cooked things from scratch. We used a lot of fruits and vegetables, but it was just done in a way that was not optimally healthy for us and they just didn't know.

Jarrod:

And if you doubt it because you do hear some conflicting information out there about certain oils being healthy. If you doubt it conflicting information out there about certain oils being healthy If you doubt it, just try it for a week. You don't have to commit to a lifetime of it. Just say for seven days I'm going to emit all refined oils from my diet and just see. See the difference that it makes, because we've seen numerous people where, within seven days, pain gone, the energy levels up, the stiffness has reduced and they're doing things they couldn't do for the few years prior to it.

Anita:

Oh, if I could go back and have somebody give me this piece of information, this one piece and we've dropped so much amazing, high quality information on this podcast episode just this one episode. But if you just took that one piece and you put it into practice. If you're hurting, if you're in pain, if you don't feel good, like Jared said, don't worry about the conflicting information. I'm so confused I don't know what to do. Try it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Nothing to lose except pounds and pain. That's all I have to say about that. Now, that was one that was on my top four. That was one on my top four and I might should have made it my number one because it made a huge difference. But I'll tell you, these other three things have made a huge difference to me and that is what do I get out of my life Meat, eggs, dairy Now, I know I didn't name, I didn't go sandwich meat, like in meats.

Anita:

If it was just one meat at first, actually it might be pork. It either be pork if you're still eating pork, yeah, that'd be the first thing. Pork, if you're still eating pork, go, let it go, okay. And then the next thing would be the sandwich meats and I would probably do both of those together at first. Immediately, do it.

Jarrod:

Those are the worst of the worst Sandwich meats are known.

Anita:

Sandwich meats are known carcinogens. They're known to cause cancer. The research is out there. It's been there for a long time.

Jarrod:

You're just not being told and we'll have more.

Anita:

But those just meat. Okay, meat in general, eggs, dairy and I was a dairy queen Like I probably would have shut this podcast off if I heard somebody say that it would be over. But I'm telling you, you can replace it. If this dairy queen can do it, you can do it. I'm not forcing myself to do something I hate. I'm not eating foods I hate, and I do not miss cheese a single day in my life. Why? Because I found my new favorites. There it is again. There's my soapbox. I just stepped up on it. Did you see that? Find your new favorites. We're going to show you how to do that, step by step. It's one of the things we do inside Accelerator Get inside Pie. You can start doing it there as well.

Jarrod:

We want to find those and keep a running list. It's going to change everything for you, anita meat, dairy and eggs. You've just named the whole thing, absolutely.

Anita:

Yeah, you went kind of general on those three. I thought you were wanting some specifics. I was real specific on the first ones, but I'm trying to be specific in meat. So we got the pork and the pork and I have to do the two because you have to do those two at first at once.

Jarrod:

And that's what I tell my patients all the time when I start to introduce it. I know too many things.

Anita:

I know too many things, we've researched too many things. We've seen too much research. We've seen too many people get out of the problem. So what I want you to understand is these are the things that you want to work towards getting out of your life meat, eggs and dairy. Okay, anita, how do I do that? Well, here's the thing Instead of focusing on these last three the things I need to get out of my life, except for the pork and the meat Just stop buying it Like, don't get it. Don't buy and get these things in your environment, but focus more on the first three when you're starting. Focus more on the first three. Yes, you need to get the other stuff out. It's so, so important, but I want you to focus on what do I want to get into my life more than I need to get that out? I can't eat, but I can't eat, but I can't have. We have episodes on that too. Okay, super important to change your mindset around that. Focus on the first three. I need it. I don't want to do three at once. Then do one of the first three we gave you.

Anita:

Okay, focus on what you want to get in and start eating more, because when you eat these things more. What is naturally going to happen? Can you see it? As you eat more of these things that are beneficial for your health, you're going to start filling up and having less space for the things that are harming you. You're going to start filling those spaces in your stomach and in your life with things that are good for you, that make you feel better. You're going to have more energy. You're going to start feeling better. You're going to stop hurting so much. Then you're going to say what can I do next? What's the next step? And we're going to be there for you every step of the way to go. Okay, here's the next step. Here's the next step. Super quick, super easy. Try this recipe. You're going to find your new favorite for this, find your new favorite for that and, before long, all the favorites are going to, by nature, crowd out all of the things that have been sabotaging you for so long, and you're going to have replacements.

Anita:

I feel like replacements are so important in the beginning, but not the nasty replacements that are processed and in the store. Yes, they can be transition foods, but you can have replacements and you can find them, and they're not hard and they're quick to make like five seconds and you're done. Things like new sauces and new dressings that are going to change everything for you. Meat replacements we go through all that again inside Accelerator. Why? Because I know it's important. I had to have meat replacements, I had to have cheese replacements.

Jarrod:

You still have the meals that you love, and we want you to be able to replicate those in a way that you enjoy but that love you back.

Anita:

So seriously, here is my point. I would simply focus on adding in the first three, and the ones to remove will start naturally falling by the wayside. We are not kidding about this. This is just one of the many, many amazing ways that Jared and I can show you that work. When you want to nix those last three and not feel one bit sad about it, do you feel sad about how we live now? I mean seriously.

Jarrod:

Not at all. I love it.

Anita:

If we shut everything down, which we're not going to do. But if Power on Plants was no more Jared and I would still be eating the same way. Why? Because we love it that much. We absolutely love it. It is quicker, it is easier, it is happier, it makes us feel amazing. The food tastes great. We miss nothing because we found our new favorite.

Jarrod:

We have no cheat days. We don't desire cheat days.

Anita:

So what do we call that? We call that a no-brainer.

Jarrod:

I was going to say freedom, freedom, oh my word, I like it even better.

Anita:

It's food, freedom. It's plant-based joy and your life changes. And then the possibilities boom. Imagine the door of possibilities that have been closed for you so long all of a sudden blowing open. What would you do? What will you do when that happens for you? And before long, you're living in freedom and the sun is shining again.

Jarrod:

And you're out there enjoying it, and you're out there enjoying it.

Anita:

There's nothing else that needs to be said. That is it. I hope that you have enjoyed this episode as much as we have Sunshine, and we want you to go throughout this day and the rest of your week knowing that you're loved, you're genuinely prayed for. We can't wait to get to know you inside of Pi and we will see you again very soon. Thank you.
