You've built something significant with your business, but why does your body keep tapping out before your full vision is complete? You know you were made to accomplish more than the exhaustion allows.  In this episode, Jarrod and Anita uncover one of the most overlooked things keeping high-capacity, faith-driven women stuck in their health struggles: a poverty mentality around eating healthy, whole-food, plant-based meals - not simply the old "eating healthy is too expensive" myth — that's just surface level. We're exposing what the enemy is counting on you never noticing so he can keep you stuck in your health struggles.

A woman firing on all cylinders is a threat to his kingdom, and he knows it!

Anita

And what about the gorilla? I mean, would you wanna meet a gorilla in a back alley somewhere?

Jarrod

no cage fight with the gorilla for this guy. I

Anita

would you be, what would you be doing if a gorilla, if you were at the zoo and a gorilla busted out of its cage right in front of you? Would you just be standing there just waiting to meet it and happily shake hands? Or would you be run- running? I'd pretty much be taking off because I know they're strong

Jarrod

They do not lack strength. They do not lack protein

Anita

Have you ever noticed that poverty mentality is one of the big things that keeps people stuck in their health struggles? Now, when it comes to whole food plant-based eating, you might be thinking, poverty mentality, money. Okay, so what you're saying, Anita, is that people thinking that whole food plant-based eating is expensive is keeping them stuck in their health struggles. Absolutely. That's the first level. We're going a few levels deep here, but let's hit this first level. Jarrod, Anita, I'd eat whole food plant-based 'cause I know it can heal what I'm going through, but I just don't have the resources. It's just so expensive." We've heard it so many times, but let me tell you what a lie from your enemy that is. First of all, your enemy's gonna lie to you about anything that's true about health, because he does not want you healthy. Why would our common enemy, Satan, not want us healthy? As believers with dreams and goals on your heart, as someone who's already accomplished many great things for the kingdom, the enemy does not want you moving forward, and he knows that he knows that he knows if your body feels good, if it is energized, if it is able to be fully productive, if you can think and have ideas flow into you because you're firing on all one billion cylinders that you have, he knows that you are going to be more of a threat to his kingdom, and that God's kingdom is gonna come through you, and the enemy does not want that. And he's gonna do anything he can to keep you down, including giving you stinkin' thinkin' such as, "It's too expensive to eat whole plant foods."

Jarrod

So let's say you're in a football team and you're walking out on the field.- If you see the opposing team, they come out, they're all jacked up and muscular, are you gonna be afraid of them? Maybe, a little bit. But if they walk out and they're anemic and scrawny, and they've been playing on Xboxes every day for twenty years, and they're five foot two, and they're about a hundred and twenty pounds you're not gonna be afraid of them. So that's what the enemy wants for us. He wants us to be weak, anemic, and scrawny, and held back. That's not what we want for you. We want you to be coming out muscular, ready to go, full of energy. Nothing's gonna stop you. You got that killer look in your eye, and you're gonna defeat that enemy and master every challenge that comes your way

Anita

And that's only possible with a body that's backing you 100%. So let's hit this first level of poverty mentality that's keeping you stuck. Oh, it's just so expensive to eat whole plant foods. Have you walked past a meat counter lately? Honest to goodness, it had been years since I'd looked at the price of meat, and one day not too long ago, we walked by the meat counter in the grocery store, and I just happened to glance over and look at the meat. And I'm literally in the middle of the store calling Jarrod, "Jarrod, you have to look at this. I cannot believe how expensive meat is." And then I did the same thing for eggs and dairy. Now, if you genuinely buy meat, and you're buying eggs and dairy on the regular like we used to do, and you seriously think that whole plant foods are gonna cost you more, you're wrong. You're just straight up wrong. I don't know how else to tell you this, but even buying organic produce, because one thing is when you cook whole plant foods, they expand. When you cook meat, it shrinks. When you cook eggs, they shrink. Like, I'm not gonna even go into other levels of this right now. I just want you to understand, you're gonna buy food that expands. Dollar for dollar, it's still cheaper to buy whole plant foods, but then the whole plant foods are gonna expand, so you're gonna have way more food.

Jarrod

A pound of meat in the styrofoam container does not equal a pound of meat on your plate. the fat's cooked out, the water or liquid's cooked out, so you get less than. And if you're like us, family of six, you take that price, you multiply it times six, it becomes exponential

Anita

Okay, and then there's the cost, the real cost of not eating whole plant foods and of eating loads of animal products. Now you have the cost of all the disease processes that go along with that. That includes t- ti- the time off work you need to recover from the disease processes, the time off work you need to go to the doctor's offices, to go to the pharmacies to manage your side effects that you now have from the medications you're taking because of it. I could go on and on. The procedures that you're gonna need, the recovery time that you need off work, the time that it's wasting. How much time is your worth? Your time's worth more than the dollars. We have podcasts we've done on this where it's longer, and we go into the actual cost. But I wanna deal with poverty mentality today. If we literally are looking at it dollar for dollar or even cost-wise long term, and we're still thinking that whole plant foods are more costly, there's something not right. We have to rethink this because in every situation where you look at it, they are going to cost you less in the long run when we're talking about dollars. But now I wanna go a level deeper

Jarrod

Yes, because this is a more obvious aspect of the poverty or the cost aspect of this But the next level, and I was sitting there thinking, kind of meditating on this, and I felt like the Lord was saying that People get stuck in a way that they may not even realize, so it flies under their radar. I think most people, if they're not really thinking analytically about this, they feel like there's a poverty aspect to healthy eating. Either I have to eat only lettuce to be healthy and I don't like that, or I can only eat just small portions of whatever these other foods are that I love to try to be healthy

Anita

Okay, so you're hitting on two things there. So the first thing is lack mentality or poverty mentality when it comes to amounts. So you think you're gonna have to eat less in order to be healthy. That's a poverty of lack or deprivation. I'm gonna have to be deprived of an amount of food to eat. And then you're also thinking you're not gonna be able to eat as much variety. Is that one thing you're saying, too? Variety could be a poverty thought

Jarrod

at that moment that I just mentioned, I wasn't thinking in that term, but yes, I do believe that a lot of people think that there's a very narrow scope of food that they'll be able to eat.

Anita

It's like you always say, people focus on saying words like, I can't have this. I can't have that." That's poverty mentality. That's lack mentality. What if you switch that, and now instead of that, you had abundance mentality? How can I? So now you're going from saying, "I can't have this chili," to, "How can I have chili that I love just as much or even more than my old favorites?" So now you've just left poverty mentality in that area

Jarrod

Yeah. So another great question would be instead of going, "I can't have," to, "What can I have?" So you're saying, how can I have a certain meal, but also look at what can I have? If you think lettuce is just one piece of plant food that you can eat, there's thousands and thousands of other things out there. You just need to be able to expand your horizon and then look at the variety of how can I prepare that, skyrocket the flavor in this food, and then you will see that there's no poverty or lack here

Anita

So another thing you touched on was poverty and flavor. It's just not gonna taste good if it's gonna make me healthy. Because we've been conditioned by diets. Many of you know my story. I grew up sitting by my mom at Weight Watchers meetings, at Nutrisystem appointments, and then going home and tasting her food that she had to eat, and watching her struggle through things like counting points and all these things. They breed, these manmade methods breed poverty mentality And leave you thinking, "I'm not gonna be able to have things that taste really good if I want to be healthy." That's lack of flavor, poverty of flavor in your food, and that's just not how it should be. It was not how it was in the garden, for sure

Jarrod

No, there was abundance. And I believe most people are drawn to the idea of abundance, which they link with their unhealthy way of eating. But God's way equals abundance. It was so in the garden. It is so even today. Abundance of flavor, abundance of nutrients, abundance of health and vitality

Anita

Oh yeah, that's another poverty thinking. Thinking, "I'm not gonna get the nutrients I need if I eat whole food plant-based." And that was one of your big determining factors of us even doing this. It's like, am I going to get all the nutrients I need? Because if it is the biblical original design for how we should eat, then your thought was always it should provide the nutrients we need. And you answered that question, and we found that it does provide everything we need, as good as or even better than any other option today

Jarrod

And it's funny, I have had some people where I mention this, you know, whole food plant-based to them, and they say, "Well, yeah, but I, I probably should just still eat a little meat to keep my strength." So there's still that association with no meat equals weakness, eating meat, strength, and it's, it's not true.

Anita

Right, but then you look at the animals. What about all the animals And we're not animals, but you look at animals. The animals can do it, we can do it and still be very strong

Jarrod

can uproot trees. I mean, does it get much stronger than that? I would

Anita

Right? And what about the gorilla? I mean, would you wanna meet a gorilla in a back alley somewhere?

Jarrod

no cage fight with the gorilla for this guy. I

Anita

would you be, what would you be doing if a gorilla, if you were at the zoo and a gorilla busted out of its cage right in front of you? Would you just be standing there just waiting to meet it and happily shake hands? Or would you be run- running? I'd pretty much be taking off because I know they're strong

Jarrod

They do not lack strength. They do not lack protein

Anita

And then you look at Game Changers. If you wanna look at humans, watch Game Changers. It's a movie, I think it's still free on YouTube. If you haven't seen it, watch it Fair warning, I think there is a curse word or two in there if you have kids or you just don't want to listen to that, but it is a great example of watching people who are not taking steroids, who are actually really built and able to lift and super strong and excelling in their sports, and they're eating 100% whole plant foods

Jarrod

And they even share that when they went plant-based, they got stronger. So also too, another warning is that there is a little bit of male health in there, and I don't think it was done in a super untasteful way. Just be aware

Anita

So think about all these ways our enemy has convinced us that if you eat what you are optimally created to thrive on, you are somehow going to be in lack. I wanna say that again. This is a lie the enemy has convinced so many people in the world. If you eat the way that you were naturally created to thrive, you're somehow, or in many ways, going to be in lack. Lack of strength, lack of enjoyment, lack of fulfillment. In other words, your bowl's gonna have to be really empty and skimpy, or you're not gonna be able to enjoy your meals like other people can. Lack of money. Are you kidding me? It's one of the least expensive ways to eat. We have to put these things to rest right now

Jarrod

And I believe it's that lack perception that people have about healthy food creates this automatic internal aversion because we're naturally drawn to abundance, and if you feel like this type of food does not offer the abundance, then you're going to naturally shy away or go from it. So I feel like people may have this and not realize it, and that's why we felt so impressed to share this with you today. Think about it. Do you feel like there's a lack mentality regarding whole plant foods? If so, know that it's unfounded. I'm telling you, this is the most diverse way of eating, most flavorful, filling, enjoyable way that Anita and I have ever eaten. So there's no lack

Anita

But it's not just us. I mean, our clients tell us this all the time. "I cannot believe how good this is. I can't believe how few ingredients it has." Yeah, I'll tell you what there's a lack of, if you wanna know what there's a lack of, all the things that we don't want. A lack of large amounts of time spent in the kitchen, a lack of cleaning grease off your shelves and off everything where it's popped because we're using all these animal fats and animal things, a lack of disease processes.

Jarrod

oil, it starts off as oil, but turns to shellac. With continued years in that heat, you are not gonna get that off your hood

Anita

Visiting the doctor's office is a lack. Oh, no. 15 years and you still can't get that off your hood. I can't even. I can't even right now. That is so true. There's so many things you are gonna lack eating this way. Lack of sitting in the doctor's office for hours and hours. That doesn't... I'm not saying you don't ever need to go to a doctor. What I am saying is you're not gonna need to go quite so often if you're feeling great, if you don't have anything exhausting you anymore, but you're full of energy, you're able to have maximum productivity in everything you do. You have all these great ideas coming to you because your vessels aren't clogged with animal fats. Oh, my word, this doesn't just cause Type 2 diabetes, although you do need to listen to our last episode where we touch on that. And if you wanna know more about diabetes and whole plant foods, get into our group, Peak Performance Network, at poweronplates.com/ppn, So again, the animal fats aren't just behind Type 2 diabetes. They're clogging arteries, vessels, slowing and stopping blood flow. Okay, so that's no nutrients or few nutrients in and little garbage out. You can imagine what that's gonna do all over your body, 'cause the blood flow is all over your body. I literally was rewatching Dr. Greger's documentary. If you have not seen it, watch it after you listen to this podcast, the How Not To Die documentary. It's free on YouTube. He shows at the very beginning, within the first five minutes, normal blood vessels, arteries that are open how they should be, where blood flows freely to the brain, and he's talking about Alzheimer's. This isn't just Alzheimer's. this affects every area of your body. So he then shows a picture from the vessels of people who have been eating animal products regularly and how they're filled with fats and how narrowed that opening is And it gives you this visual imagery that you need to understand what's going on inside your body. When you can see it, you can see how limited the blood flow becomes, and you start to see this is why it's happening. It's the animal products So deprivation of disease? Absolutely. That's what we want. Deprivation of having our time stolen by the devil? Absolutely, 100%. We'll take that kind of deprivation all day long. This power on plants is about us linking arms and starting to understand these things, and starting to right the wrongs together, iron sharpening iron, coming together in this community inside Accelerator, building each other up, keeping each other excited. Those who are accepted into the cohort come in and are just thrilled with not only what they're learning from us, because that's changing their lives, but also what they're learning from each other. You know, when you can help each other get beyond these things that you believed for so long, and start to see all the amazing results you're getting, and everyone else that's walking through this with you is getting, it will blow your mind. And we start seeing, oh, the enemy's kept us stuck in this area. Oh, we believe this thing, and no, this is what's really true. So we take those false ideas, and we p- replace them in truth one after another, after another. Now we're stacking right thoughts in the place where wrong thoughts were. Now everything becomes easier. This is the place where there's no more striving. This is the place where we're able to do the things we were called to do fully and completely to bring his kingdom come to Earth. And that was Jesus' prayer for you, and that should be our prayer for each other. That is what we're lit up about doing here inside Accelerator I know that we've discussed some things that today will change your life We have loved having you join us. Know that you are loved, that you are prayed for regularly, And we look forward to seeing you soon
